PRESS RELEASE - NOVEMBER 2002 GOOD NEWS FOR CANADIAN CATTLE INDUSTRY
The cattle industry gets a big boost in marketing livestock across Canada and the U.S.A. as the Canadian Satellite Livestock Auction goes live on National television.
On November 22nd, 2002, the Lone Star channel will broadcast the Canadian Satellite Livestock sale live on it's coast-to-coast T. V. channel, at 11:00 A.M., M.S.T. This will be the first ever-Live VIDEO CATTLE AUCTION to be broadcast on a public T.V. station.
Blair Vold from C.S.L.A. says this is big exposure, not only for us, but also for the whole Canadian Cattle Industry. With over 450,000 subscribers to Lone Star and growing, this not only makes participating in the sale easier, it showcases the way the Canadian Cattle Marketing Industry works.
C.S.L.A. is a Live Video Cattle Auction that started in 1993 and has been broadcasting sales on a private satellite channel. The cattle are represented by local participating livestock auction markets across Canada. They are up linked through C.S.L.A every two weeks.
Lone Star is a Western movie and T.V. channel that started two years ago and can be viewed on both Bell Express View and Star Choice dishes, plus on digital cable T.V. stations. C.S.L.A. has signed a two-year contract with Lone Star to broadcast its sales every two weeks.
I believe this takes our Cattle Industry to another new level. Blair states that the showcasing of our cattle, our country and the way we do business to such a large public audience is the best exposure any one can ask for.
